A considerable amount of new forum members and lurking J.W.'s who haven't officially signed up will not have seen that discussion. It's good to repeat some previous posts in order to benefit such ones, as well as potential J.W. recruits. The JW web page is still prominent - let's do the same with our shaming them for it.

JW website speaks with forked-tongue!
by The Fall Guy ini put this under the "scandal" section because it is both a scandal how the wtbts can flaunt its evil hypocrisy and an even bigger scandal that the u.n. and governments in general turn a blind eye to the treatment inflicted on anyone who questions or challenges the org's teachings and practices.
"the right to change religions is supported by the universal declaration of human rights, which the united nations has called “the foundation of international human rights law.”......of course, these rights carry with them the obligation to respect the rights of others both to maintain their beliefs and to reject ideas that they disagree with.

Critical times, hard to deal with!
by The Fall Guy ini reckoned that a comment by muddy waters in his latest post deserved a separate consideration - especially for active/fading j.w.'s..
's who called on him, parroted out the org's message of doom from 2 timothy 3:1-5 to remind him how bad the world is and that it showed that we are living in the last days.. a former elder/p.o.
once told me that he hated it every time the wtbts falsely applied these verses to the 20-21st century.

I reckoned that a comment by Muddy Waters in his latest post deserved a separate consideration - especially for active/fading J.W.'s.
He said that one of the J.W.'s who called on him, parroted out the org's message of doom from 2 Timothy 3:1-5 to remind him how bad the world is and that it showed that we are living in the last days.
A former elder/P.O. once told me that he hated it every time the WTBTS falsely applied these verses to the 20-21st century. He insisted that the apostle Paul was referring to Christians living in the 1st century - something which is acknowledged in part by the org in the Insight book. Of course they "by extension" stretch it to have it both ways - as is their usual way with interpretation of scriptures..
it-2 pp. 206-207 - Last Days
"The words “last days” or comparable expressions are sometimes used in connection with the apostasy that was to be experienced within the Christian congregation......Next Paul contrasted such corrupt persons with Timothy, who had closely followed the apostle’s teaching,.... Thus from the context it is clear that the apostle was informing Timothy well in advance about future developments among professed Christians and describing what fruitage such apostasy would finally yield. Similarly, the apostle Peter provided advance knowledge to fellow Christians about pressures from within the congregation: “There will also be false teachers among you"..... (2Pe 2:1, 2) This same warning is echoed in Jude’s words.......Furthermore, the illustration suggested that the apostasy would bear its full fruitage of wickedness during “the conclusion of the [Jewish] system of things”
under Satan’s control. Reasonably, therefore, at that time [1st century] the conditions described by the writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures as marking “the last days” would be in evidence on a large scale among professed Christians." (not the "world" in general)According to scripture, the judgement starts first with the house of God (1 Peter 4:17) and not Babylon the great, as the org dictates.

Classic situation at Circuit Assembly Day
by freddo inso i've just skived off to the car park half way through our assembly day - what a classic morning.. i'm sat right behind an early-teen kid with some sort of special needs (autistic?
) who's sat with what looks like his late-30's harassed single parent mother.
(or married to an unbelieving mate?

(Matthew 21:16) “Yes. Did you never read this, ‘Out of the mouth of children and infants, you have brought forth praise’?” :)
SNK himself gets praise and commendation for his honesty, sincerity, and insight. I hope his mother appreciates her son's qualities one day. -

My story and what I'm trying to do with it
by Ft2188 inmy dad was an elder my entire life and my sister a regular pioneer for most of my life, along with my mother.
ill never forget being 4 years old and staring up at the stars outside and my dad leaning over to and saying "look what jehovah made for you".
my response, "but how do you know god is real"?

FT 2188, welcome. Your story is so sad and is a warning lesson to anyone who is studying with J.W.'s or is thinking about doing so.
The WTBTS is an evil business corporation which uses religion as its cover. Their "religion" is run strictly along cult guidelines - total reverence & loyalty of the institution & its leader/s, unquestioning acceptance of everything they say, and willingness to give them your hard-earned cash.
Have a great life with your son - be a survivor and not a victim. Be a witness against the org whenever you can.

This week's "Give Us Your Money" meeting item.
by freddo inif you went to it, (or go later this week) how was it handled?
just the video or some commentary too?.
i have heard of a few negative comments from some that attended - one jw even openly said to me "not very encouraging, all they go on about is money lately" and another (a serving elder, no less) said "someone's got to pay for all those lawsuits".

Unfortunately I'll be visiting "the only place of true-worship in the area" tonight as part of my abuse of the org! I was sent the following YouTube clip by a former elder who also acknowledges the WTBT's cult status.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PdT4KzzO2g&t=49m0s
I truly look forward to hearing the sound of the wind and tumble-weeds rolling past in the K.H. as the Borg worshippers silently adopt glazed expressions at the non-stop money-grab.
Keep turning that particular thumb-screw button G.B. The "friends" can only benefit from it.

Why I constantly write letters to the Watchtower Society
by UnshackleTheChains inhi all.. for many years now, i have been writing letters to bethel in new york and london.
i have also written to the charity commission, the bbc and more to highlight the harmful teachings and policies of the watchtower society.
i realise that some may view this as futile and understand why they might feel this way,; especially considering the pharisaical stonewall-like attitude displayed by the leadership of watchtower.. some reasons i do so is because i feel that constructive criticism is essential in helping to bring about change.

I would think that Bethel J.W.'s who are assigned to deal with correspondence will have been very carefully vetted and selected due to their absolute love and loyalty of the org, therefore virtually immune to any information which puts their golden calf in a bad light. But you never know, one future small crack in the building could magnify the previously ignored cracks - and bring the building down for someone.

Elders asking, "Are you refusing to talk to us?"
If I was ever confronted with that question again, the predators would never forget my reply!
